I am a lowly peasant low on the social pyramid. I had to work late in the fields, so I showed up to the Globe Theater after the show began. Because of my social status, I was only able to purchase a ticket for the pit in the middle of the theater. There are no seats, so I had to stand. Thousands of people attended the play, but all remained silent and attentive while the play was taking place. I had to stand in the back of the crowd, so I could not make out all of the words from the actors. The Globe Theater unfortunately was not equipped with chamber pots for public use, so my fellow play goers had to use the floor. The floor consisted of crushed shells, sand, and aggregate. It became quite smelly in the pit, but the performance of the actors was stellar, so I did not mind it too much. The production that I went to see was Macbeth. I liked it very much because of characters such as Lady Macbeth. Her dark side was very shocking to me. I did not expect a woman to be capable of conspiring against a man. I especially did not expect her to be capable of plotting murder on the nobility. The actor who played Lady Macbeth was outstanding because it was played by a man. It still amazes me how they only employ men in theater. After the spectacular show, I had some extra money that was burning a hole in my pocket. I did not want to cross the Thames River again since it was already dark outside, so I decided to explore the neighborhood around the Globe Theater. I found a pub that looked right up my alley. I sat down and ordered an ale from the barkeep. Unfortunately, this pub was above my social class, so I was thrown into the street and refused service. Luckily, I stumbled across another pub in the immediate area. This pub was much friendlier, so I got an ale and ended up drinking the night away. I sat next to this man who called himself Bill. We exchanged stories and made pleasant conversation. He ended up paying my tab and we went on our separate ways. He seemed to be a very well educated and ambitious man. I wonder what ever became of him.

Hi Trey,
Good job on your first blog post! You did well to include specific and historically accurate details in your response. Your description of and commentary on the character of Lady Macbeth was very good. I especially enjoyed your clever and humorous mention of the enigmatic "Bill" at the end of your post. Keep up the good work.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a poorly statused character. " I liked it very much because of characters such as Lady Macbeth. Her dark side was very shocking to me. I did not expect a woman to be capable of conspiring against a man. I especially did not expect her to be capable of plotting murder on the nobility. " I like how you used cultural references for the time period in your story, and how your character has opinions that would have been the kind of thoughts men back then would have in those days. Great ending too! Good job, Trey!
